  1. What is it?

    • Waxing is the use of either soft wax, wax that needs a cloth strip for removal, or hard wax, wax that hardens as it cools and entraps the hair, to remove unwanted hair. Traditional wax is applied in the same direction as the hair growth and removed in the opposite direction.

  2. How Long Does Waxing Last?

    • Typically, waxing results can last between 3 to 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth rate, the area being waxed, and depends on how often you come in to get serviced.

  3. Does Waxing Hurt?

    • Waxing can be uncomfortable, especially for first-timers or sensitive areas, but the pain usually decreases with regular sessions as hair becomes finer and less dense.

  4. What Should I Do to Prepare for a Waxing Appointment?

    • Ensure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long or the length of a grain of rice (remember this, if you can grab, it can get waxed), exfoliate the area gently the day before (5 seconds in one direction, 5 seconds in the other direction), and avoid lotions or oils on the day of the appointment.

  5. Are There Any Post-Waxing Care Tips?

    • Avoid the 4 Ss: sun, sex, scrubbing, and sweating for 24-48 hours after waxing to prevent irritation. Moisturize and exfoliate regularly to prevent ingrown hairs.

  6. Can I Wax If I Have Sensitive Skin or a Skin Condition?

    • It's best to consult with a professional esthetician or dermatologist. Some conditions, like eczema or psoriasis, may require special considerations or alternative hair removal methods.

SUGARING

  1. What is it?

    • Sugaring is the oldest form of hair removal. It's made from sugar, lemon juice, and water that's cooked to into a paste and used to remove hair by rolling it against the direction of hair growth and then flicking it off in the direction of hair growth.

  2. How Long Does Sugaring Last?

    • Sugaring results typically last between 3 to 6 weeks, similar to waxing, depending on your hair growth cycle and the area treated.

  3. Does Sugaring Hurt?

    • Sugaring is generally considered less painful than waxing because the sugar paste adheres only to dead skin cells and hair, not live skin, reducing discomfort.

  4. What Should I Do to Prepare for a Sugaring Appointment?

    • Sugaring can pick up shorter hairs than waxing. Ensure your hair is at least 1/8 to 1/4 inch long and follow the same preparation protocol as above.

  5. Are There Any Post-Sugaring Care Tips?

    • Same as above.

  6. Can I Sugar If I Have Sensitive Skin or a Skin Condition?

    • Sugaring is often suitable for sensitive skin and can be gentler than waxing, but it's still advisable to consult with a professional esthetician or dermatologist if you have specific skin conditions.
